What are we all about...The student forum of the Department of Zoology is a voluntary body that is intended to serve the various needs of the graduate students in this department. The graduate students are the majority of the people in the Department of Zoology and we come here for a limited time with a particular goal in mind - to conduct our research and studies. Being organized in a body that serves our particular interests can make our stay here more pleasant and valuable.
Our forum serves to improve the communication between the graduate students, the department head and its various bodies. This serves both to keep us up-to-date with departmental decisions and events and promotes our envolvment with how the department runs and operates. |
We, amongst ourselves, raise issues and problems that trouble us, discuss them and present them to the senior staff members as a collective body representing the graduate students. We also aim at sending representatives to various departmental committees and gatherings in order to make our say heard and influential. The forum also serves to help us - the graduate students amongst ourselves in matters concerning various scientific and technical issues such as scholarships, bureaucracy, tutorship, etc. Furthermore, our forum serves as a basis for meeting in various social contexts and in general enables us to get to know each other...
Our forum runs on a purely voluntary basis and elects representatives that oversee various aspects.
